Compare the Hyundai Kona to the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 at Ciocca Hyundai
Choosing an SUV as your next vehicle is a smart decision. No vehicle is as versatile, rugged, and ready for the adventures you come across on your journeys. While larger SUVs can feel sluggish and tough to maneuver through traffic, subcompact options like the Hyundai Kona are the perfect fit for your lifestyle.
The Hyundai Kona stands tall in its segment, but as you research other options, you might find models like the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 offer similar experiences. Below, you'll discover how the new Hyundai Kona compares to the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 and why we think the Hyundai SUV will stand out from the crowd!

Hyundai Kona vs. Honda CR-V
While the Hyundai Kona presents a smaller rival to the CR-V crossover, the Kona improves your daily drive in a variety of categories, notably including price. The Hyundai Kona starts at a more budget-friendly price of $21,300, beating out the bigger Honda CR-V's starting price of $26,400. While the Hyundai Kona starts at a more affordable rate, you can access many more features that you can't find standard in the Honda CR-V lineup. The Kona comes standard with an eight-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration. The Honda CR-V isn't standard with a touchscreen or smartphone integration, requiring you to pay more to unlock similar features.
While both models offer turbocharged engines, the 1.6-liter that rests under the hood of the Hyundai Kona allows you to push your drive to the limits better than you could in the Honda CR-V. The Kona's turbocharged engine delivers 195 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque, compared to the Honda CR-V's 1.5-liter turbocharged engine making 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet of torque. When you want to cruise the roads with total control, the Hyundai Kona's seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission offers quick upshifts and downshifts for a smooth, seamless drive. The Honda lineup only offers a CVT, taking some of the fun out of your commute.

Hyundai Kona vs. Toyota RAV4
Once again, the Hyundai Kona is the more affordable option of the two SUVs, starting over $5,000 less than its Toyota rival. While the RAV4 is sure to offer an array of features that make it a suitable SUV for your family vacations, you won't find similar luxuries that come in the Kona lineup. The Hyundai subcompact SUV sports available leather seating surfaces on its higher trim levels, a feature you won't find anywhere in the Toyota RAV4 lineup. SofTex® seating surfaces are available, but they won't offer the class and refinement presented by true leather upholstery.
The Toyota RAV4 is a bigger SUV than the Kona. However, you won't enjoy as spacious a drive as you might think. The Hyundai Kona offers a maximum of 39.6 inches of front-row headroom and 41.5-inches of front-row legroom. The Toyota RAV4 offers ample seating space for rear-seat passengers, but those in the front row will have to work with only 37.7-inches of headroom and 41-inches of legroom. While the Kona is a smaller SUV all-around, you'll find the next adventure is enjoyable and comfy!
